This is seen in subtle ways inside and out, perhaps most significantly with the iconic BMW badge, which today comes etched on the panel, making the section much easier to hand over to the next incarnation it becomes on its circular path.

The distinctive kidney grille, invented as a chic method to cool the engine, is today a sophisticated motherboard of technology, housing the headlights and a plethora of sensors and controls that ensure luxurious levels of comfort, safety and performance for the car.
