Dinorwig Distillery

The distillery was established in 2016 from a quarry workers cottage in Dinorwig, North Wales. The signature gin, Blue Slate Gin / Jin Llechen Las, is made by using only botanicals that are cultivated in the area and local mountain well water.

Ensuring local provenance for every element of the identity and packaging was crucial. Much inspiration was taken from the old quarry to create the identity, and the labels were printed using local letter press printers and hot foil embossing to produce the textured effect. The background for the labels was an adaptation of a landscape watercolour by contemporary Welsh artist Glyn Price.
