Cegin Patagonia/Patagonia Kitchen is a small but ambitious company that began in 2020 during the first Covid lockdown. They started by delivering frozen empanadas to people's doors in Aberystwyth and then moved on to delivering cooked empanadas locally and attending events like the Eisteddfod and Royal Welsh Show.
The client included "Patagonia" in their brand name because of the historical links between Wales and the region in Argentina where Welsh immigrants settled over 150 years ago. Angeles, the owner of Patagonia Kitchen, is from northern Argentina and is involved in arranging group tours to the Patagonian region (has done for approx. 15 years). The recipes for the Empanadas and Chimichurri come from her mother and father respectively, who in turn learnt them from their mothers. They were looking to convey this authentic story and history within our branding.
They were looking for a fresh perspective on their brand and wanted to create something exciting that will work not only now but also for years to come. They wanted to get their branding right and to roll out a new range of Chimichurri sauces.
