The term Bossa Nova is associated with the Brazilian music genre immortalised by Austrud Gilberto in The Girl from Ipanema (by Joao Gilberto and Tom Jobim). The genre is a melodic combination of Jazz and Samba. In our humble opinion it represents what is best in Brazil, its creativity and sophistication.
The wave pattern in the box design is a homage to Ipanema beach in Copacabana/Rio de Janeiro.
What we created
Some bespoke typography for the identity playing on Brazilian typography from the 50's. We also created a bespoke illustration which featured a Scarlet Amazon Macaw in homage to this incredible bird, currently on the endangered species list. We also created a series of chocolate packaging with contained special finishes and embossing.
