Inspired by free riding and surfing on the beach The Bike Room is about the spirit of being free, the passion of fixing things, up-cycling and never throwing things away, designing and building interesting bikes.

Anthony Burrill has always been an inspiration, his bold typography mixed with strong messages show that art and design can work together. His powerful bold statements and letterpress printing is a great combination.

In 2022 we witnessed 2 hit shows on Netflix, firstly Stranger Things that has given Kate Bush’s song ‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)’ a new lease of life. The second is the huge hit series Wednesday and that awkward dance scene that almost broke the internet, The Cramps, Goo Goo Muck song. TiKToc creators seemed more interested in performing Wednesday’s dance to the tune of Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary.”

An unconventional shade for an unconventional time

Pantone’s Color of The Year, Viva Magenta 18-750, vibrates with vim and vigor. It is a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength. Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative.

The future is electric. This we’ve known for a while. One thing that can be certain is manufacturers are pushing the design more than ever, which is a good thing. Take cars for example, they seem to have lagged behind when it comes to modern design, for years we've been teased with numerous exciting concepts that have never been seen on the roads.

Niki Cotton is the VCA resident artist, her large work dominates around studio, bringing a huge amount of energy and positivity into the spaces. Niki has recently been commissioned to illustration as 78 deck Tarot Card deck called Rebel Heart Tarot, working with the popular author and 'Queen of Tarot' Alice Grist.
